Presentation to deans, public forum, and other pre-release info

We (the survey authors) are excited to announce that we’ve been asked to present our findings and recommendations to GMU’s provost and deans tomorrow morning!

We’re very glad that the university administration has responded receptively to our project, and we hope this will be the start of a productive conversation that will lead to some positive changes in GMU contingent faculty working conditions. Check back in this space at the end of the week for a post about our presentation and the university’s response.

We’re also very happy to announce that we will be holding a public forum during the coming weeks to present our findings and recommendations to the GMU community. Check back in this space soon for more details about this event.

We’ve been working on this project for a year and a half now, and we’re confident that this is the most comprehensive study of a university’s contingent faculty working conditions to date. If you’re interested in the issue of contingency in higher education and its effect on student learning conditions, please do share this report widely, sign up to stay informed of upcoming news and events, and find us on Twitter. We’re looking forward to tomorrow’s release!
